2020 Lexus IS Powertrain Options and Fuel Economy

The 2020 Lexus IS line is an excellent option if you’re looking for compact luxury car. A quick look inside will reveal a beautifully designed interior, from the leather upholstery and high-end construction materials to the slick design and sleek tech interface.

The 2020 Lexus IS lineup has three different engines: a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and two versions of a 3.5-liter V6. The 2.0-liter turbo four is available on IS 300 RWD models. It produces 241 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. IS 300 AWD models have one of the 3.5-liter V6 engines. It pumps out 260 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, IS 350 models, both RWD or AWD, have a sport-tuned 3.5-liter V6 that produces 311 horses and 277 lb-ft of torque. All 2020 IS RWD models, regardless of engine, have an eight-speed automatic; AWD models have a six-speed automatic.

Fuel Economy

As with any other vehicle, the equipped powertrain affects the 2020 IS lineup’s fuel economy numbers. The 2020 IS 300 RWD with the 2.0-liter turbo-four is rated at 21-city/30-highway mpg. 2020 IS 300 AWD models with the 3.5-liter V6 are estimated at 18-city/24-highway mpg. IS 350 RWD models are estimated at 20-city/28-highway mpg, while IS 350 AWD models are rated at 19-city/26-highway mpg. For the highest fuel economy, the IS 300 RWD is the way to go, while the IS 350 offers reasonable efficiency with higher performance.
